Leah Piotroski | Artist

Hi, I'm Leah.I'm an interdisciplinary artist working across cyanotype, textiles, printmaking, photography, found materials, and writing. For over twenty years I've been gathering and layering images, objects, stories, plants, memories, and materials into new relationships. Sometimes that takes the form of a floral installation, a patchwork textile, a cyanotype print, a publication, or a strange object that doesn't fit neatly into any category. My current work is concerned with continued contact: the ways bodies, materials, places, and memories remain in relationship long after an initial encounter. Through processes of accumulation, repetition, staining, stitching, printing, and reuse, I explore dreambody, girlhood, deep time, women's work, and the traces things leave behind. These works take shape along the banks of the Neschi-sakquik.
